This track pack is a collection of the tracks that I know have been
done so far for Flatout 2. We still have more tracks to make and new DD
pits will be the next pack release.

FO 2 track pack #1 Beta version.
Final
version will go into the V2 Flatout Joint community mod for Flatout 2.
There will be an update to the track pack after Shadow and me learn how
to move objects with Gulbroz new track editor.
Install instructions:
[ We assume you have patch your Flatout 2 game to v1.2 ]
Put fo2trackpackfinal-1.bfs file in your main Flatout 2 folder. ( flatout 2 or flatout2 )
Then open "patch" file ( make a copy of "patch" file first ) and paste or type fo2trackpackfinal-1.bfs under patch1.bfs
Note: If you are going to use the CustomCarMod_v1_2.bfs file, it needs to be listed before fo2trackpackfinal-1.bfs so the database file in CustomCarMod_v1_2.bfs does not over write the database file ( with the new track folders ) in fo2trackpackfinal-1.bfs.
For those that did not follow all that, just be sure your "patch" file looks like this:

fo2trackpackfinal-1.bfs
or "patch" file with CustomCarMod_v1_2.bfs
patch1.bfs
CustomCarMod_v1_2.bfs

[ do not push Enter after last line in "patch" file, if you do so, this will create a blank line and corrupt "patch" file ]
If you use the CustomCarMod_v1_2.bfs in "patch" file, you can
race the custom cars available at Flatoutjoint.com on the new tracks,
like the Go-cart that Heddly made.
Racing offline with mods and the track pack is not a problem, but
online your "patch" file need to match the host's "patch" file or you
will not see any hosted games online. I suggestion you just list,
patch1.bfs
fo2trackpackfinal-1.bfs
and just race with the stock race cars online.
Unless you are racing with friends and can talk to them and decide which mods and custom cars to list in "patch file".

Thanks to some Gearheads Shadow, Heddly, Motter and me (Purple44), we have 12 new tracks to race on.
Most tracks are the figure 8 type.

A BIG thank you to Shadow for tweaking the lightmaps. (
start\finish lines, burning track into lightmap ) And thank you Heddly
and Shadow for making some new tracks or this track pack would be on
the small side. And thank you Motter for a good track idea,

Things you should know about the tracks:
1. On the figure 8\ 2-way tracks, like Suicide Canal, you may see
the wrong way message when racing the middle of the tracks. Ignore this
warning. Also when resetting your car you may get reset with car facing
wrong way and will need to turn car around and go right direction.
1a. Be sure your cars passes the yellow line before the turn
around arrows on Suicide Canal tracks. If you turn before car crosses
yellow line, lap won't count.
2. There no reset maps for these tracks. So if you cheat the
track you will have no warning that your shortcut is not allowed. I
only remember putting in one shortcut on one of the tracks I did, so
if you try and cheat the tracks, odds are your lap won't count.
2a. GoCart Hairpin track: Since there no
guardrails to keep you on the track, I place pairs of tires at the
hairpin corners to mark where the checkpoints are. If your car make it
between the tires at each checkpoint, your lap will count. Even if you
get in black area then make it through next set of tires, then your lap
will count as long as you make the check points in order. No skipping a
set of tires.
Hopefully when V2 mod is release the tires will weigh 500,000 lb. and will not move. ( a tweaked dynamic_objects.bed file )
2b. Hazard Hollow track: This is an offroad
track and the area to the right of track is safe to drive, but go to
far right, you fall off of the track. There some RV's and cars marking
the check points on the inside left area of the track. Cheat these
check points or the one choke point, lap won't count.
3. There a glitch in farmland tracks 4 & 5 when you race
through the underpass. For a few seconds your car will be under the
track surface until your car reaches higher ground on the other
side.
4. Some of the tracks still have wooden barriers in the way. Was
unable to move them with Pav track editor. But with Gulbroz new track
editor this will be fix in the update. THIS HAS BEEN FIX.
5. Beware of resetting your car. Especially near where the tracks
cross. You may get a bad reset. Better sometimes to backup if you can.
If you get bad reset, the game remembers the last check point you
pass, so if you remember where you where. You can go directly back to
that spot and finish the lap without having to redo the whole
lap.
Changes in final version:
Thanks to GulBroz great new Blender Track Editor, I was able to
get rid of some barriers that were in the way or move them to better
spot. And Shadow went to town putting up new fence in Hazard Hollow
track. And we did some minor tweaks here and there with the objects.
In testing with the guys at Flatout Joint, found a couple of tracks,
like GoCart Jump that needed the splitpoints adjusted so lap would
count. And we found bug with game on canal 3 track in both stock and
suicide versions. If your car got knock off the bridge, when trying to
reset, car keeps resetting under bridge. After lots of trial and error
got reset to work better. Not perfect, but better.
I tried to make new tournament preset for new tracks but get error when
using new track folder names. So you only get the new Derby on race
track preset and two race track presets that Sadistiko and I did.
Custom Tournament Presets
I also added the free roaming mod, so when using the Derby on race
track preset, you can drive off track. We'll see if you guys like this
or not and put it to a vote if you want V2 mod to be free roaming on
all tracks or be up to you to add free roaming mod to patch file.
Note: Be sure to practice the new tracks offline
so you are familiar with the tracks when you go race online. Follow
Jack and Sofia around the track. They drive tracks better than the
other drivers.
Without some specials tools ( Gulbroz dbtools and
Blender track editor, Pav track editor and Karok bfs2pack ) and Shadow
showing me how to add track folders to the database file, these tracks
would not be possible!!!! THANKS GUYS!!
