The 30 reverse tracks are now in the new
Edit: Be sure you click notrackai link, reverse tracks will not work without a new fo2a_notrackai.bfs file. It seem a lot of you who have downloaded the reverse tracks bfs have not downloaded notrackai batch file.
Thanks to De_Stan stepping up to the plate and getting the ball rolling on reversing the AI data files and some help form Pavcules and GulBroz track editors we now have 30 reverse tracks. The 30 tracks that are listed in Single Race mode.
Edit: Found a problem with the Arena and Nascar tracks that can crash the game, today while racing online, I fix the problem and uploaded a new reverse-tracks-final.bfs file. For those 57 people that downloaded the older version, please download this new version. Sorry this problem was not caught in testing.
The AI cars on most tracks had a little trouble racing the tracks in reverse ( most of the jumps only work racing forward ) so I had to tweak the splines.ai files that controls where the cars drive to make them take a better route around some of the obstacles in the AI cars way.
So be prepare for some new bumps on the tracks and some new jumps off of some hills, there one hill you can get some major air time! Also the tracks were not design to race in reverse so I put some arrows on the track to point you to the right exit to take. There one problem I was unable to over come when resetting on elevated freeways and exit ramps. If you push reset button when above ground on the freeways the game will reset you back on the ground. Things you can do to avoid this from happening is to backup if you get turn sideways, if you take wrong exit and fall off the track map, let auto reset, reset you.
Also if you ragdoll out of your car on elevated freeways and exit ramps and push reset, you will get reset to ground level. You could prevent this by disabling Ragdoll in the options.cfg in your Savegame folder. This will not affect DD, you still will be ragdoll out of your car when destroy.
Settings.Game.Ragdoll = TRUE
change to
Settings.Game.Ragdoll = FALSE
Now the installing part:
Before you can use the reverse-tracks-final.bfs file in your game and have it work, you first need to make a new FO2a bfs file. Sorry about this, but as long as the game reads the trackai.bin in the tracks folders, the game will ignore the new reverse AI data files we made.
So you need to download noTrackAI and run the noTrackAI.bat to make a new fo2a_notrackai.bfs. You will need 5 GB of hard drive space to do the unpacking of the fo2a.bfs file and to make room for new fo2a file ( fo2a_notrackai.bfs ).
With the fo2a_notrackai.bfs and reverse-tracks-final.bfs files in your main Flatout 2 folder your ready to edit your "filesystem" and "patch" files. ( or use the 2 files included in download, back up your original "filesystem" and "patch" files before coping these new ones over ) Open the filesystem or patch (They do not have a file extension.) using notepad by right clicking it and selecting notepad. Copy and paste what here for each file, do not leave any spaces or push enter, after the last name listed and save it.

I would like to suggest to you guys that want to race the reverse tracks online ( like on Saturdays ), that we use the same "filesystem" and "patch" files. This is what I plan on using when the Custom Car Pack #1 is release. ( hopefully in the near future )
