Community Mod for Flatout 2
A joint effort by the Gearheads here at Flatout Joint.
The FOJ Community mod for Flatout2 (patched to v1.2) is now uploaded & ready for download,
it contains 3 parts that make up the full mod.

Carpack 2 is now release,
so be sure to also download Carpack 2 ( part 4 ) and use the new
standard "patch" file that come with Carpack 2 to load FOJ Community
Mod with Carpack 2. Click here!
Also
you can download from Heddly's site all 4 parts of Community Mod with
Carpack 2 in one large exe file that will unpack all 4 bfs files into
your Flatout 2 game folder. Click here!

This is the main part of the Flatout 2 FOJ Community mod, all readme's,
scripts, load screens, database, language files,carpack1 fixes.
It also includes a "patch" file to use ( please use this patch when
hosting community mod online, unless you are doing a custom game with
friends ), so once all 3 parts are installed, mod will fire up right
away. There is also the mod manager included in case you wish to
uninstall mods or add more.

-3 canal tracks the only utilize the water canal section called suicide
runs. 3 checkpoints, race to one end of track, turn around against on
coming racers, race to other end of track, turn around, then back to
the finish line.
-2 big figure 8 tracks made from the garage test track.
-2 small go kart tracks made from the garage test track.
-3 fields tracks with new racing routes, all very long routes.
-2 city tracks, one small figure 8 track and one normal track with new race route.
-all 30 stock race tracks routes reversed. You may know the tracks well
in stock game, but I guarantee you don't know them that well in
reverse, lol.

Some History:
This game was meant to be unmoddable just like Flatout 1, it came with
no mod tools, no sdk or any type of editor.But thanks to the skills
from a handful of community members.The game has bin torn apart and
upgraded FOJ style,by using the .bfs packer/unpacker(used on bfs game
files,database tools(used to decompile/recompile database), customized
blender editor(for track editing),language editor(language files
editor),flatout1 track editor(used before blender editor available),mod
manager(easily add and remove mods with a few clicks of mouse) and of
course the reverse track program.

-Muratus's car mod creation setup to handle custom cars from 46-90 (created by Muratus)
-shadow's custom car sound fix (created by shadow)
-shadow's car icon support added for cars 46-90 (created by shadow/ogretoe)

-Baku's single race options added,support for 135 cars. Use Delete key
when at track you want to race offline to bring up the options.

-DD all tracks ( host a derby on any track) (gulbroz)

-some final results screen adjusting for positions of names/ car names (gulbroz)
-sound error fixed for cars 100-135 in database (shadow)
-script updates from gulbroz so a carmod profile with
custom car in career will be able to be used on a stock game or in a stock multiplayer game.(gulbroz)
-moved around left hand side fields of car selection screen to give car names more

-minimap mod added,options menu with transmission , ragdoll and minimap
( make minimap full size ) added to multiplayer lobby (gulbroz)
-tournament presets (13) by purple44 and sadistiko added
-ai replacement screens from Staw_TS added
-carpack 2 icons set up for current released cars/private beta's, so when car tested out , icon will be there.(shadow)
-carpack 1 fixes added to overrite.bfs.
-new car selection enhancement, stock
cars show up to start. You must hit "down" or "up" arrow to cycle from
stock to carpacks. Also to change car skins, its now the "delete" key. Check bug report #3. ( Same as Host bug )
-single player track selection is now set up as car selection, once
ready to pick a track, hit "down" or "up" arrow to cycle from stock to
reverse to custom track if available.

Basic installation:
After downloaded all 3 parts of Community Mod, extract the 4 .bfs files and the "patch" file to game directory from the 3 Winrar
files. Start game , create a brand new, not used, profile and Edit ( buy a car in Career mode first ) then enter the
"GIEVEPIX" cheat so all cars show up ( use CAPITAL letters, if you see
Formula One car (#88) next to Gocart (#89) then your new porfile is
working ). Its that easy. You will want to
extract the mod manager later to add more mods like the cars being made
for carpack #2.
Beware there a possibility of having a
bad download with these big rar files. It has happen to at least two
people, mod seem to be working fine until they pick a track with a
corrupted track file and game crashes. They had to redownload the
trackpack.
Here a couple of batch files you can use to switch between community
mod patch to race online on Saturdays and a stock one for racing online
the rest of the week. ;) community mod batch files.rar

The FlatOut 2 Mod Manager is included in the main mod part 1, to make a new patch file when needed or to go back to stock patch file.
An installer will be made soon that will combine parts 1 and 2 and hopefully be about 200 megs smaller. (maybe)

Current outstanding bugs:
1. Watching replay in single player stunts will have you stuck in replay mode.But replay of stunt works fine in career mode.
Solution: none so far.
2. If online and playing hunter/prey(tag), if a player drops and you do
not hit escape to go back to online lobby before the timer runs out and
the round ends, you will be stuck viewing the dropped player and will
have to hit "alt-f4" to close down game.
Solution: none so far.
3. New bug found: If the host selects "use same car as host" option and
a player goes to car selection menu(to change skin) , that player's
game will crash.
Solution: its being worked on as was just discovered. If you are
hosting a race ,do not use the "use same car as host " option. Type in
the chat box instead to have all use a certain car.Or just let people
drive what they want.

As you can see this was a joint effort by the Gearheads here at Flatout
Joint. And we are not done yet. We still plan on releasing the V2 mod,
with more new tracks, conversion tracks like snow and asphalt and new
DD pits if we can get redirects code working. Some more tweaks and the
car modders are still making new customs cars.
Hope to see all of you that have
downloaded the Community Mod, online Saturdays, hosting or joining. You
can use FOJ BS box to let players know you are hosting online. Online
where the best racing is to be had, especially with the new custom
cars. AI drivers not very good at driving custom cars. aka Purple44
