Video will give you a preview of the start of a GRID 2 career in single player.
Medium difficult setting look to easy in video. I think I will try a harder setting when I get GRID 2. I wonder if the guy driving in the video was a wheel or a pad player?
The last track in video, Côte d'Azur, will show off the eye candy in GRID 2.
Here a track list of what been confirm so far:
Autodromo Internacional do Algarve (real circuit) Brands Hatch (real circuit) Barcelona (city track) California (openroad/point to point) Chicago (city track) Côte d'Azur (openroad/point to point) Dubai (city track) Indianapolis Motorspeedway (real circuit) Miami (city track) Okutama (circuit) Paris (city track) Red Bull Ring (real circuit) Yas Marina (real circuit)
Yesterday I register over at teamvvv.com so I could ask Allen for more details about the wheel being slower than a pad in GRID 2. Here what he had to say:
Grid 2
By: Alan Boiston Sure I can give some additional feedback.
Playing the game at Eurogamer the wheel (G27) felt very sensitive on the American muscle car, playing it with the pad felt like a different game, so much easier, so much more stable.
Later in our visit to Codies and playing on the wheel in our first run of the A1 Ring and though still sensitive the balance of the car made it easier for more consistent times. Moving to the pad and I was immediately quicker, I could take corners at higher speeds and with greater stability. Going back to the wheel with my new found knowledge of what was possible my lap times decreased but the instant cornering of the pad just felt quicker. Though there was a gap of anything up to 4 seconds in times, players were either slower or less consistent with the wheel.
Moving to more recent previews and more practice (now I have a preview build) and it depends on the wheel used and the car used. The triple screen vids with the CSR felt fantastic, I could push and commit to corners. My G25 does not feel like that (PS3 version) and feels very different.
To conclude, it is theoretically possible that the wheel is as quick as the pad though the gap between pad and wheel can differ between car, wheel make etc. On testing I still find the game way easier with a pad though more fun with a wheel. I'll continue testing and support this with lots of video coverage in the coming weeks as we near release.
Here’s a sneaky peek at the PS3 version, note how I barely turn the wheel, basically tippy toeing, this particular section is far easier with the pad.
The first Saturday of the month is almost here again, May 4th. Time to host FOv3 mod for Flatout 1.

As for the next Live Stream, this Thursday I'm sorting out content for it tomorrow and will let you know as soon as it's all set in stone.
No I think you are wrong Loore.
Mine says released on 30 may.
I think the release date for steam will be the same as the retail versions for the continents
Just checked with the team and this has indeed changed. Steam will now unlock based on region, so May 28th for NA, May 31st for EU.
Some good news for the PC Euro guys thinking about getting GRID 2, was posted over at Codemasters GRID 2 forum:
Loore wrote: Regarding dates, I believe GRID 2 launches May 28th worldwide on Steam
Purple44 wrote: Hmmm, then does that mean the PC players in Europe\England will get their GRID 2 unlocked come Tuesday, May 28?
This would be good news for the Euro guys!

This was posted in the Steam pre-order thread. I'm still not happy with what Codemasters is doing with the pre-orders for PC or consoles. So I will wait until release day and a demo before I decide to buy GRID 2.

Bugbear yesterday started a thread asking for track ideas. I was going to do a post today, but can't now. Hi Heddly ready to do test? TS? Purple44 - Does the PS4 mean we will see some better eye candy for the PC when PS4 games get port over? > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7QhUL8NUK4 set to 720p Purple44 - Anyone want to buy a broken 2 year old AMD 5870 that just quit on me? Lucky I got a spare 7300 PCI express video card I keep around for testing, so I should be able to race Flatout 2 tonight. Look like I get a new video card for GRID 2 and Bugbear NCG. Now to decide on what card to buy for $200 ,
Gulbroz - How is it there is nearly no nVidia in that test (3 out of 11)? in particular they nearly skipped all GTX5xx series (except for the 560Ti which is a cut down GTX560 and is not worth the money). I'd go for nVidia - I always did (I have now a GTX570). Cuda is the only way to benefit from the new render engine in latest Blender and it's not working with ATI/AMD... Purple44 - GRRR lost my post, so here short version, decided on the 660. The 7870 had too many RMAs at newegg. Purple44 - sorry guys, could not make the FO2 racing tonight, was busy helping my folks.
I took a couple screenshots of the 2 cars the Devs customizes with a little help from the chat room. Definitely a more robust paintshop compare to GRID 1, but not to the level we saw in TDU2. I did see you could adjust how big the car rims are.
One down fall of new paintshop, if you like using the same skin across all your cars, will be more work to do it. Unless there an option to save across all your cars.
guys S.O.S i saw in origin's page that GRID 2 is availiable for pre-perchase the miniimum requirments and requires directX11 even in minimum...tell me that is fault of origin cause my card support just directX10...

Give this thread a read from the F1 2012 forum and see what you might be in for:
Part of GRID 2's complex multiplayer framework sees the institution of an advanced player matchmaking system, built to cluster players in groups based on both skill and playstyle. By using a background collision-detection system, GRID 2 assigns individualized collision ratings that can be used to separate the paint-traders from the body-protective ricers and hopefully isolate "scheisters," to call upon my northern heritage. The same goes for skill level: The best-of-the-best shouldn't be stuck racing against those who rely on barriers to complete sharp turns.

Possibly that he is using TrackingIR, which would give him an advantage . . .
That's a good question... it means impact rating
What the logo actually means is how that person races
eg if the icon is red it means they are a bit crash happy
if its green they are clean and yellow means that they sit somewhere in between.
