Logitech G27 PC settings! WORK!
    Sp33dFighter wrote:

so after allot of tweaking and messing arround i finaly found out a pretty solid setting for the g27 on pc with Grid 2.

the weird thing is.. its just the default settings in windows and a bit of adjusting in-game.

just go to your logitech profiler and go to the wheel options. load the default settings.

    then in Grid 2:

    force feedback strenght 70

    force?? middle option. 60.

    wheel weight   50

this gave me so much more control of my car and actually love it now! it went from riding on an ice road to finaly feeling grip!

the only thing i realy realy miss is the option to enable the gear shift indicators Sad

Purple44 - Does the PS4 mean we will see some better eye candy for the PC when PS4 games get port over? > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x7QhUL8NUK4 set to 720p
Purple44 - Anyone want to buy a broken 2 year old AMD 5870 that just quit on me? Sad Lucky I got a spare 7300 PCI express video card I keep around for testing, so I should be able to race Flatout 2 tonight. Look like I get a new video card for GRID 2 and Bugbear NCG. Tongue Now to decide on what card to buy for $200 Undecided,

Tom's Hardware has a review that you might want to look at.  Best Graphics Cards For The Money: February 2013

Gulbroz - How is it there is nearly no nVidia in that test (3 out of 11)? in particular they nearly skipped all GTX5xx series (except for the 560Ti which is a cut down GTX560 and is not worth the money).
I'd go for nVidia - I always did Smiley (I have now a GTX570). Cuda is the only way to benefit from the new render engine in latest Blender and it's not working with ATI/AMD...
Purple44 - GRRR lost my post, so here short version, decided on the 660. The 7870 had too many RMAs at newegg.
Purple44 - sorry guys, could not make the FO2 racing tonight, was busy helping my folks.
Heddly - 5-11-13 = is anybody racing tonight?
Purple44 - ya we racing, got 3 slots open it anybody want to join royce host

Heddly - I had to install win 7, 64 bit this time. can't get tunngle to join flatout 2. cya next saturday

I hope that The Crew will be a success, lets hope that the multiplayer experience has all of the necessary options included. This has been the weak link between the devs and players and has been the Achilles's heal of racing games which frustrates players and cost the devs/publisher money in lost sales.

With the bugs that are released in some games, I think that less and less players will be preordering new games and wait to read the reviews and not get stuck with a buggy game and bad multiplayer experience.

I like the concept of this game. The graphics are really good, there is nitro, great collision damage, a cockpit view, free roam, cop chases and pedestrians. What else could be better than the FlatOut game experience?   Grin

The Ubisoft Community has a poll about  "Whats the main thing you would like out of this game "
=========================
Poll: Multi choice, pick the most important things you would like to see in this game.
    Comprehensive paint and stickers shop
    Focus on racing
    Real Driving physics
    Continual download content
    Lots of social options
    Open world free ride
    Lots of different cars
    Extensive customisation
More than 8 players in a lobby
    Comprehensive wheel support

Give this whole thread a read ( at 3 pages now ) and see Codemasters mod response to my post and other peoples posts. And no I did not start this thread, just responding to one of CMjustbiglee posts:

Codemasters suck.

    CMjustbiglee wrote:

I understand how people might jump to that but you have my word that not the case.

No dev/programmer/artist/producer wakes up in the morning and thinks "Lets go make a bad game" everybody in the building loves what they do and wants to create the best game they can.

That's true of us and any other developer on the planet.

Another GIRD 1 feature missing in GRID 2:   Sad

Major Drafting / Slip Flaws in GRID 2

    Merg wrote:

Gledson told me today he has concerns that this game has no slip / drafting.

So we tested this. What we discovered is a massive flaw, and on top of this found, a probable bug we had from GRID 1

    Problem 1, Gear Ratios

We tested using a few different cars with different upgrades, and noted that the top speed is not capped by physics (as in, car bhp plus air resistance), but by gear ratio. So for the Tier 1 Alfa with no upgrades, you get capped to 161mph from the gears, so when you try to slip someone infront of you, you cannot, you are stuck at 161 all day long.

What this means is that as racers become more consistent, we will not be able to have any proper races as we cannot slip and create the great battles we had in GRID1. I don't know how many of you reading will see the danger here, but this is a significant problem, and makes this game unplayable for competitive racers, really.

    Indy

At Indy in the Dallaria, we confirmed there is actually drafting in this game (unlike Dirt 3), it's in the physics engine this time. Top speed on long straight is 213mph without, 214mph is reached early on in the straight with slip. For a car and series which is built entirely around drafting, this is absolutely poor and really highlights the problem.

    Problem 2, Slip bug.

Some of you will remember a slip bug where some racers got no draft at all. It seems Gledson is suffering this bug again in GRID 2. He can't slip even in the Dallaria.

    Conslusion

This game is seriously flawed, not as a sim or anything like that (some of you know i play sims and don't like arcade racers), but as a racing game, period.

Each car and upgrade route appears to have it's top speed limited by it's final gear ratio, so you get capped, we all do. I would urge Codemasters to relax the final gear ratio for every single car by at least 10%. But i have to say, my gut feeling tells me they probably would have to do some massive rewrites to do this, as the cars have far too much power and will easily just hit the fgear ratio cap again, and again.

My feeling is, the way they have built the cars physics and power curves is likely a total hack job, and not an easy fix Smiley
