hi all i`d like to do a simple skinning job on an already existing car for my son, problem is, i`m a noob with 0 experience at all..

i have found the car folders and (for example) car 55, has a bunch of .dds files in it, i can see them in photoshop with the dds plugin, but i cant seem to make my changes stick, the car always looks the same after i alter the image.
my question is, how, and which .dds file do i change?

so far, ive just been painting on top of "skin 1.dds"

i read through the skinning tutorial but it seems a bit complicated, i just need to add some text to the roof of the car,  can anyone help?

cheers

steve

Try going to Layers and at the bottom then select Flatten Image.

Click ok and go to Save As. Select .dds from the drop down list.

Make sure that you save to the right file name. Sometimes it will automatically rename the file to "copy of ***.dds."  Hope this helps.

I really enjoyed making my first skin with my ex-wife's daughter on a car for her.  Wink
