No you don't need US v1.2 and there no patch to turn Euro v1.1 into US v1.2.

But if you try and install the Euro v1.1 patch into a US v1.2 version of Flatout 1, you will get an error message. There only about 3 changes between v1.1 and v1.2. There only one of the changes I remember and that is US v1.2 has a 3 line chat window online\LAN, Euro v1.1 has no chat window online\LAN unless you use the FOv2 or Fov3 mods for Flatout 1, then you get Baku's chat window.

Probably the easy way to tell if have US v1.2, is too see if you have a us.bfs file in your stock Flatout 1 folder. If you have Euro v1.1 you will see euro.bfs and a patch1.bfs file. Stock Euro FO 1 v1.0 will not have a patch1.bfs file.

If you are only going to race offline, then only need to patch Flatout 1 if you have the stock original v1.0. There no patches for the original US v1.2.

Ok, you have the US version 1.2 of Flatout 1. You do not need to patch this version of Flatout 1 for offline racing.

Stock version of Flatout 1 will only allow you to add one extra car if it is number as car #17. Where did you get this General Lee car for Flatout 1? I did not see it listed in the Flatout 1 download section?

If you want to add up to an extra 16 different custom cars ( 17-32 car slots ) to Flatout 1, then you will need to install FOv2 mod or FOv3 mod in different folder than your stock Flatout 1 folder.

If you want to add a few custom cars to Flatout 1 from our download section, take a look at this, 17-32 ghostcars and menu cars, It might make things easier.

Dodge Charger 69 - General Lee is what it is called....

Page 2, 3rd car from the bottom...

I have the FOV3 mod,but the General Lee replaces car #13, Bonecracker for the FO without that mod... It says it needs the v1.1 patch...

I got the car skin I wanted packed up, but it keeps on saying runtime error or fatal error when it is in the filesystems.ini...

 Try listing the new skin in your patch file after the fov3overrite.bfs.

I use the FO1 Mod Manager

I download the Dodge Charger 69 - with the General Lee skins and took a look at readme and I see the problem.

Ulukaii assume you are using Euro v1.1 of Flatout 1 and that why he listed this as the patch.ini to use:

   Archives = {
   [1] = "patch1.bfs",
   [2] = "chrisdodgeHz.bfs",
   }

But since you are using stock US v1.2, you do not have a patch.ini file or patch1.bfs file, so you will need to list chrisdodgeHz.bfs in the filesystem.ini like this:

Archives = {
   [1] = "common1.bfs",
   [2] = "common2.bfs",
   [3] = "chrisdodgeHz.bfs",
   [4] = "us.bfs",
}

I attach my filesystem.ini for stock US v1.2 if you want to use it or you can edit your own. Be sure to have a copy of your stock filesystem.ini before making changes. Since the Dodge Charger 69 is replacing a stock car ( #13 ), you do not need any of our mods to load this car.

Here a pic of the General Lee I just took. I was having a little trouble seeing where I was going on the track. Wink

Well, I got the car working...

I found the plugin for paint.net and i cant find  the download anywhere... I searched BoltBait's Transparency plugin and found the forum it is in but I can't find the download.... Help?

I also tried to play FOV3 today and when I start, it will go to the copyright screen then an error sound, I press Alt = Tab, and It says run time error... How can I fix that? And I don't want to reinstall it... it took 30 minutes... I don't wanna wait that long... Tongue

I found link to BoltBaitPack.zip in the first post on this web page where it say " Attachment: ":

BoltBait's Plugin Pack - Feather, Transparency, Flip, Pastel

Can you attach the FOV3InstallLog.txt file to a post so we can take a look at it. You will find this file in the \FlatOut - FOV3 Installer folder.

Edit:  Hmm I have read your other to posts about FOv3 and sound like the stock version working, it when you started adding mods to patch.ini file when game started giving you errors.

If your stock Fov3 work fine with the stock filesystem.ini and patch.ini files, then there no need to reinstall FOv3. That the nice think about using bfs files, there pack up so you can not mess up the stock game files when adding modded bfs files to your filesystem.ini or patch.ini files.

And you do have Pav's Flatout Mod manager installed and it working OK? Program does let you add bfs files to the patch.ini list on the left hand-side window? It seem manager does not work in Vista.

Sometimes your SaveGame profile can get corrupted. Try renaming your original SaveGame folder and start the game and it will create a new one for you. Hope this works for you.

Yep, you just need to add Gimp DDS plugin to your Gimp installation, and take care of using correct parameters when saving.
