Here is another FO1 track to guess. This is a combo of 2 tracks, one is backwards from the stock version and the other is a stock track. The track as laid out actually goes thru 2 barricades but looked better and used most all the enviroment The straight with the arrows (tied together with outlet covers) should be the same roadway but i can't do that without a merge track i have never actually seen outside a catalog I can't believe i still have track left over...

aww no comments much less a guess ok, we go back to easy. Use the dashed line instead of the kink for the correct line. And a tiny clue.....

The outer part of track is Redpine Race Dash ( Winter ) and inside part is Road Zero Course ( Winter ). I cheated and started a FOv3 mod host and scroll through the Winter tracks.

LOL You have quite a track there Royce. As I remember the transformer would only supply enough current for a maximum length of track or the cars wouldn't get enough "juice" to complete a lap.
Do you use a special higher wattage power supply?

A little too scary? Yup, it's a fake The real track will be the 3rd one in orig post. Only at this warehouse til end of year. To actually get that working would take 50 hours of track tweaking and an aftermarket controller or something as they are more limiting than transformer. Can wire up multiple pieces to provide power and 6v is easy enough to find (already have 1 transformer per lane setup), but the stock controller is really small gauge wire...hmmm....but the rheostat itself is pretty robust....hmmmm. Just wire up a couple tracks to provide power at far ends goes a long way rather than rely on the track (100 electrical connections too!) to transfer it. PS grew up doing this with lionel trains on 77 sqft table as well as part of this track... Could have it running one lane in each direction with much less tweaking. Might try that yet. Tweaking each connection to run one lane against the track grain for 100+ joints is tedious, repeat if you want to be able to run it backwards also

That was 150ft of track in the monster making .91 miles circuit at 1/32 scale right?. LOL barely a go-kart scale! I was hoping to say it is so many scale miles.
Should have known since Lionel turns around a frt train in the 7-11 parking lot...
lol, the merge track is up on ebay. I could make crash alley or a suicide track but need new digital module for my new cars to really make a suicide run suicidal. Could make the combo track or a fake suicide run nicely tho.

And so....when is race night? I remember having similar 1/32 Eldon sets....almost that much track, was several sets from the neighbourhood kids who didn't use them anymore, only thing didn't have the sq. ft. that you appear to have, so I had several double spirals and over/under parallel runs...needed the individual transformers and even soldered a lot of the joints together....too much voltage drop. Ahhh those were the days...cheap, simple pleasures! Digital modules?? so, same slot runability? You would prolly have to parallel yer 2 xfmers first and run them as 1 large xfmer...course I may be way behind on modern slot car engineering and evolution.

Initial testing says... The old cars are going to be a problem I'll have to run a train transformer or something scaled down to 8v and even more power connections than expected. The 6v transformer just isn't enough (anymore?) The newer 14.5v cars is ok with train transfomer. I Have a pair of 74 Manta models to match the ones in my garage They also run better with less tweaking with dual brushes. I don't think there is an issue with wiring otherwise as i was able to test both voltages with the rewired 1960's controller and same track connections. I built a controller box that holds 2 6v and 1 18v transformers to select the output voltage and for easy connections. I guess i can just open it and turn it down for now.

Ready to go for a drive? Sorry it is longer than i wanted but... http://www.whizbane.com/monsterdrive1.wmvDon't go to my pathetic website(unless that link doesn't work...) Looks like i could have skipped the webpage anyway. lol, i am sure i did all this the hard way but haven't made a website before and there seems to be no help without paying Oh well, the hosting does seem to be free and pretty generous for a year so what the heck. I should have used the other lane to avoid going against the track connections but i don't think i am taking another 234 pictures

Hey Royce....took a look at yer pic pac from track level...ya, brings back memories....I see you have all yer electrics enclosed in see thru plastic....for ease of use and portability I would guess...I wanna play too. I just wanna know one thing....where do you find all the time?

The real deal this time. My idea of a TRUE TRI-OVAL Track is cleaned and laid, now working on supports for the upper levels. Almost 100 hours so far to clean track and tweak the electrical connections as well as lay down the tile on the table. Soldered up 3 tracks for power so even the old cars (only 6v!) should have plenty of juice 50 feet of track on a 3-1/2 x 11 foot table. About 600 electrical contacts cleaned and 200 feet of rails sanded and polished. All good as new or better Cars are ready to go, only the supports are left to finish along with some clear 4" tall barriers to go around table.

Very impressive royce. maybe use pvc tubing for supports with a greyish concrete look or how about some metal girders from an erector set? I think Toys-R-Us sells individuals parts. Then there is always Lincon Logs and Elmer's Glue. As for the side barrier you could look for some type of clear netting or screen to cushion the cars when they go off the track. Keep up the great work.

I have the side barrier i salvaged from some frt damaged stuff. No idea what it was but is perfect for this. Planned on using the dowels. There is one U-shaped one in middle of layout (under white box) i tested the concept with for the pieces above another. Plain dowels will do where they can get to the table. Some will be screwed to table from bottom and connected with a force fit (removable) nail on top. The U-shaped ones can be mounted much the same way. One section has dowels in middle of lower track like some of the FO2 tracks with the pillars Hadn't thought of lincoln logs or erector set but might try something on one section since i do have my vintage erector set also Now to work in the old Lego set and Tinker Toys....
