Well lol , there isn't any openings  Tongue It won't be ready by me in the next few weeks anyway as I need to learn body damage still  Tongue But you and black can use the latest version,, damage it up and pop in one of your spots / or pop in a carpack 1 spot if you want to replace one of your cars etc ( we would just put the car in overrite as we would do with a carpack one fix)

We came close to finishing beta carpack 2 this weekend , but fell just short of the task. Carpack 2 beta should get release this week.

Warning, you are going to want to give the carpack 1 cars a second look!  Carpack 2 will included fixes to the carpack 1 cars that did not handle well. Between the fixes to carpack 1 cars and the better attention to the handle of carpack 2 cars, your going to have a hard time choosing which car to race with.  Grin

There a lot of good racing cars to pick from now and some DAMN good looking cars in the new carpack 2!!!!   Wink  Have to get Heddly to make a new slide show to show off the new cars.  Grin

How about it Heddly?

Here a tip to get all the new carpack 2 cars to show up in select car menu.

When I first started testing the carpack 2 cars, My Purple44 profile did not see all the cars and I went to the Cheat options and type in the cheat code GIEVEPIX ( did this a few times ) and could not get all new cars to show until I made a brand new profile and then did the cheat code.

This weekend was helping test the tweaks to the carpack 2 cars and decide to try again to get my original Purple44 profile ( the one I started career mode with, when I first brought the game ) to see all the carpack 2 cars. This time I went to Career mode  and bought a carpack 2 car, started a race with it, then went to Extra icon, then Enter Code icon and type in the cheat code GIEVEPIX.

Went and check to see if all the carpack 2 cars showed and there all there now.  Grin  If you can't see Drag Racer's 1981 Chevy Malibu ( car 93 ) or Heddly's Trex ( car 127 ), then you are not seeing all the Carpack 2 cars.

Note: If this profile is your first ( #1 ) profile, please read the next post, it talk about a problem I ran into.

So when you guys get your hands on the new beta carpack2, be sure to check and see if the profile you are using, show all the cars offline.  Online, this is not a problem, all cars show up no matter what profile you use.

Read this:

I found a problem after getting my Purple44 profile to load carpack 2 cars. Today went and change "patch" file to stock v1.2 patch and when I started game, got a " out of bounds " error.

After restarting the game a few times, I remember Heddly telling me, can't have a carpack 1 or carpack 2 car selected in Career mode to race with in your #1 profile or came will crash.

So after remembering this, I change back to mod "patch" file and went into Career mode and into the Garage and change car to race with, to a stock Flatout 2 car. Then started a race to make sure car changed to a stock car.

Then I was able to change back to a stock v1.2 "patch" file and was able to start Flatout 2 without crashing the game.  Grin

So if any of you have done what I talk about in post above and that profile is your #1 profile, you should change back to a stock car before leaving Career mode if you don't want Flatout 2 to crash when changing your FO 2 game back to stock v1.2.

OK, beta carpack 2 is ready to download from Heddly's site. Hopefully we got a good upload and rar file is not corrupted.

If anybody get a corruption error after unpacking rar file, please post or if bfs file give a fatal error. Give the carpack a good testing and report any problems you find.

Will host beta carpack 2 tonight at 6:00pm, new time is 5:00pm pacific, 8:00pm eastern, 2:00am Sweden time, for those of you who have downloaded carpack today.  Change time since downloads going faster than I thought they would and don't want to keep Boerny666 up to late.  Tongue  He bring his video camera!  Grin

I put the link to beta carpack 2 rar in text file attach to this post. Did this to get an idea of how many people are downloading beta.

The final version will be uploaded to Mod DB site.

I'm getting good connection speed with Heddly site today - 175 kb. Will have it downloaded in about 35 mins.  Grin

I usually only get about 25 kb.

Here the readme file:

No content of any of the "FOJ's Community Mod" , including this beta pack is allowed to be used or hosted in any way unless first contacting an Admin on www.flatoutjoint.com for permission. (Pavcules,Muratus,Shadow,Purple or Gulbroz) Car authors must be contacted personally for hosting or using any or all of  their cars for other games or fo2 mods.

This is the mod updates along with the carpack 2 beta pack which fills up the rest of the carspots from cars 91-140. Car 91 will be found at the end of carpack1 row in game. Row 2 of custom cars is car92-136, Row 3 of custom cars is car 137-140.

Buglist:

For online play , if hosting do not use the " Use same car as host" option or other players who go into select a new skin will crash their game. If a host has this option used, make sure not to go to car selection or you will crash game.

If in hunter/prey mode , and one player drops out during a session during the gameplay, all must return to online lobby before time runs out , or you will be stuck watching the dropped players view and not be able to exit game at all. Forced then to hit alt-f4 to close down game.

Bug fixed:

Replays for single player stunt mode is now fixed and you will not be stuck in replay mode, thanks goes to "Peter Greene" on empire forums.

Whats new:

-5 cars have been replaced, 3 new cars in carpack1 and 2 new cars of the carpack2 beta cars have been replaced. Car icons will be done up for the final release.
-new hud, new buttons/fonts for the game, updated database for mod extension to 140 cars.
-if you have not tried any carpack2 cars that were in beta stage, then I guess cars 91-140 will be new to you.

-We have combined the updates with carpack 2, this in turn means there is no use for the "foj's_community_mod_overrite.bfs" as it was combined with carpack2, so that file can be deleted from game folder. The new patch file looks like this:

patch1.bfs
FOJs_Community_Mod.bfs
FOJs_Community_Mod_Trackpack1.bfs
FOJs_Community_Mod_Carpack1.bfs
FOJs_C_Mod_updates_and_Cp2beta.bfs

Are you seeing all 95 new cars?:

Best to make a brand new profile and enter the "GIEVEPIX" code at extra's ,codes menu, but can be done with an old one. Here's how Purple44 did it:

I went to Career mode  and bought a carpack 2 car, started a race with it, then went to Extra's/codes screen, then type in the cheat code GIEVEPIX.

Went and check to see if all the carpack 2 cars are showing and there all there now.  Smiley   If you can't see Drag Racer's 1981 Chevy Malibu ( car 93 ) or Heddly's Trex ( car 127 ), then you are not seeing all the Carpack 2 cars.

If this is your #1 profile and you want to still be able to run stock v1.2 "patch" file without a " out of bounds " error, you will need go into the Garage and change car to race with, to a stock Flatout 2 car. Then start a race to make sure car changed to a stock car.(we recommend using profile 2-8 for mod and leave profile 1 for stock fo2 racing)

We hope you enjoy the new addition to the mod and remember , this is beta so please post any feedback at flatoutjoint.com in the forums.

Rar file is good and new bfs file seem to be working OK so far. Can see all the new cars in carpack 1 & 2 after tweaking profile. If you don't have 3 custom cars on last row, you profile not showing all 95 custom cars.

Just a quick note, I did not test every car as stated by purple to ensure that the memory offset error does not happen on each car and each carskin. Only did a quick test to ensure .bfs file worked after extracting from .rar file and checked out 5 cars. Since of course testing would take a few days going thru each car and each skin, and we have delayed the pack of what we thought was gonna be released a month ago  Tongue So I leave testing of this to the beta testers  Grin

Also , the new replacement cars will get proper car icons for the final release and I will update them for the separate download I have going by tuesday.
