Hi Nitronik, I have not gotten any new emails yet and have not found any new news with Google.

Hey Nitronik, you want to visit Team6 Flatout page and ask for an update on Flatout5? The Devs do check this page now and then.

I'll write something, but probably an E-Mail wold be faster

EDIT :

Gah, it won't let me post. Even tought I write, it says that I must write a message.

ALso, mass mailing would work well, seeign as devs would be more prompted to answer a question asked by many.

Team 6 Questbook page is working now. You can now post your questions or comments again.

http://flatoutwii.team6-games.com/index.php?pid=18

I've been told that Team 6 is still hard at it, working on the new Flatout, but now StrategyFirst is the new publisher. Zoo Games is out of the picture.

Here link to StrategyFirst homepage:

http://www.strategyfirst.com/

If you do a search for "Flatout", you will see StrategyFirst sell all 3 Flatouts: 1, 2 and UC. You can buy a bundle of all 3 for $29.29.

If you would like to thank StrategyFirst for helping Team 6 finish the new Flatout, here their email address to use:

GUYS LI

GUYS

GUYS LIST

GUYS LISTEN!!!

So, I sent a mail to Team6. here is my question :
Hello, Team6

I use to post in the Questbook under the name Nitronik.

I'd like to receive some news from you about Flatout 5. You have been pretty quiet lately, and we don't really know if the game is beign developed or if it has been abadoned.

I wait a response. The most we and I know about Flatout 5 is that it might be released after christmas and just a couple of screenshots have been published.

Thanks in advance!
--------------------------
And now their answer :

Hi Domenico,
Thanks for the Email.
The game is not abandoned (it almost was.. ) but our new publisher has asked us to not release any materials nor news from the upcoming game until they say we're allowed to..

Thanks for looking out to FlatOut,
Ronnie

Aww, I just noticed what Purple posted. Sad

Mail chunks time!

me : "... it's nice to see that the game it's not dead. I really hope you will follow some of the tips we gave you on the questbook Wink"

Team6 : "We try to do as much as we can. I think we should have started the development more like MineCraft.. then the community would have had the game they really wanted, instead of what our publisher is willing to invest in Smiley"

Seems like we won't get all of what we request, but at least we should get a good bit of it. Oh well, really can't say that it was unexpected, but I find strange to see that a publisher doesn't want to invest on player's requests :v

I found some new screenshots of Team6 new Flatout they are still working on. Ready for some night racing? Free roaming in the quarry?

AND maybe 24 player derby? Is that what the caption to this pic suggest!!

6- 24p derby

1- Nightshift mode

2- Detroit

3- quarry

4- quarry

5- monster truck

7- speed mode

8- offroad mode

I email Ronnie at Team6 last night with some questions I had about the new Flatout pics I found. Ronnie said it be OK to post his relpies:

Purple44:

I did notice one pic titled:  6 24p derby.jpg   Does this mean you got 24 player derby stable? Also, is this 24 player offline or 24 player online?

Heddly MSN me this message:  " i'd love to get ahold of the that double decker bus."

Does the AI get to drive the bus?

Thanks again,

Purple44

Ronnie Nelis

- The night racing is not just as night: It's a nightmare to drive too
Smiley The rain, damp, fog and night make it difficult to see anything, but
the reflections make it even more difficult AND the road is real
slippery because of the wet road. A.i. difficulty is also a lot harder
in this mode, and alltogether..  only try this mode if you're really
familiar with the cars and maps, otherwise it will frustrate you a lot Smiley

- 24 player derby is working very well at the moment. First we wanted to
try 32, but then the system specs would become too high. It's online and
offline playable and stable.

- The double decker isn't controlled by the Ai yet, but that's something
we'll change right away this morning. As soon as you've unlocked the
bus, there will be an Ai driving it too Smiley

Thanks for the reply,
- Ronnie

Purple44 & Ronnie:

Great news we can have 24 player derbys online. But then I got to ask, will host be able to change things up and pick a race next? With a full house of 24 players in a derby, will host lose half the players if pick a race or will racing also support 24 players?
+++We have various game modes with different player limitations, so i'm afraid the server will kick some of them, yes. Sorry for this, but i don't see any other option. For a normal race, currently we've got 16 players.

In derby mode, will players get to spectat the other players after being wrecked?
+++Good question. I'll post this in our bug /feature report system and probably it's going to be in there.

Purple44

Graphics label to be on the level you see in Flatout 2. If your computer can handle Flatout 2 or even better Ultimate Carnage, then your computer fast enough.

Nice with some news  Cool

16p in racing and 24p in derby. Yay... makes me wanna start playing derby again. (anyone played the game Destruction Derby2?)

My worries,
I do get this feeling the game not will aim so much for the serious racing that exsist in FO2/FO1.

Purple44, what do you mean with "free rooming in the quarry"? Just a free room where you can hang out or like the test track in FO2?

I'm hoping we can do all 3, race the quarry, derby the quarry and free roam the quarry. Monster trucks in the quarry screwing around, would be fun. I remember taking the Jeep Hurricane and jumping the hills in the construction maps of Flatout 1. Smiley

Looking at pic #8 ( 8- offroad mode ), look like Team6 planning an offroad mode\free roaming. I have not ask about this offroad mode, but I did ask in the beginning that the Team6 track designer make sure that all the maps are solid in the new Flatout. I don't want to see any sink holes like we saw with Flatout 2.

Just happy as heck to know that newest Flatout is still a-comin. Have seen a lot of Game titles come and go over the years, now that I'm a seasoned veteran I wait for friends and accquantices to give me a heads up as to whats being enjoyed and may have the staying power to be around for awhile. Of course the multiplayer online experience is what I'm talking about here. Nothing better than racing online(stunt/derbying secondarily) with a bunch of people whom you have grown to know and maybe are regularily connected with at racetime(t.s or ventr). I'm gonna confess here, the last racing game(any game) that I bought was Flatout 2 ,purchased 2 copies in fact. So its been awhile. Anxiously awaiting something worth spending the money on. Anyways took a look at screenshots ...read the posts...and it is good to see some news . I too have similar fears as with previous poster KSFR who said "My worries,
I do get this feeling the game not will aim so much for the serious racing that exsist in FO2/FO1."
