Hey all FOJ, I have a few issues with the transmission when used online not only does it cause lag to the player who use but they're other people that can maneuver with it so fast including all melee attacks (circling with behind view) that it seems unreal BOT like no human whatsoever unless they're are methods of which i'm unaware of, if so please tell your secrets.

I wish that derby was Automatic tbh, to me that makes the most sense since it's derby right?... racing Derby is nonsense i'm solely using just to keep up with those minorities. When in manual i find it extremely difficult to melee attack and when trying to trick players using reverse/forward, not only these but also the fact that you need to press gear down twice or if you crashed just smash the hell out of the keyboard until it decides to reverse then your mind get's confused because you still have to use forward arrow which totally screws your coordination hell fire...including the use of the other directional buttons since they are now the opposite of the action what the car usually drives at while in manual/forward aka inverted effects.

Is there any difference between using a gamepad vs keyboard?

Does gamepad create hack/lag look a like compare with keyboard users?

What is the best options to be using while manual? (default not even possible right? Since you must criss cross hands, how on earth do you plan on using behind view and nitro at reverse LOL)

Does Force Feedback options 0%, 100% affect keyboard users?

Texture quality Very Low, Low vs High, Very High?

View Distance 0%, 50% or 100%? may seem obvious but w/e Cheesy

What does instantaction.bfs do? does it effect online play?

Which resolution is best to play with? i heard 5:4 shows more on screen etc

Thank you for reading, i hope yall can answer my doubts, issues and questions and nope i'm not hating just annoyed at this buggy game and in need of clarification Roll Eyes

I consider myself skilled in derby especially with Automatic (manual not bad), just a heads up to noob comments about skill since skill is a human term meaning skill can only go so far.

Hi, I would assume most players online with Flatout 2 would be using auto. You would have to be real good with a KB to use manual gears in a derby. Manual gears in a derby would be a lot tougher than manual gears in a race.

If your good with auto, why trying to use manual gears?

I use a wheel and would be terrible at using KB. Wink

One thing that helps me in a derby, is to keep an eye on the minimap. You can see if someone coming after you. You can hit the brakes to make them miss.

Now there maybe hacks out there that give players an advantage, like the nitro hack ( unlimited nitro ). About all you can do about that is host your own derby and set nitro to 2x so nitro hack does not have as big of an advantage or kick players that you think are using hacks.

Is there any difference between using a gamepad vs keyboard?
>>> Much easier with gamepad because you have analog input, but as Purple said the best is a wheel.

Does gamepad create hack/lag look a like compare with keyboard users?
>>> Not that I'm aware of.

What is the best options to be using while manual? (default not even possible right? Since you must criss cross hands, how on earth do you plan on using behind view and nitro at reverse LOL)

Does Force Feedback options 0%, 100% affect keyboard users?
>>> No, only wheels and gamepads that have forcefeedback (but I must say FFB on a gamepad is just a gadget...)

Texture quality Very Low, Low vs High, Very High?
>>> Depends on you graphic card, but FO games do not require that much GPU - except for FO:UC (here, everything to max on a GTX570, same with my GTX260 before and GT7950 before that...)

View Distance 0%, 50% or 100%? may seem obvious but w/e Cheesy
>>> Depends on your graphic card, but Id' say 100%

What does instantaction.bfs do? does it effect online play?

Which resolution is best to play with? i heard 5:4 shows more on screen etc
>>> Depends on you monitor... if you don't pick a ratio that fit your screen, you'll have distorded display. (some don't care, but I cannot play/watch a movie with incorrect ratio)

Thanks for the info peep, also could anyone verify if these will work with FlatOut 2 v1.2?

Settings.Network.AutomaticFrameSendInterval = TRUE
Settings.Network.AutomaticFrameSendIntervalHigh = 50          --[0 .. 1000]
Settings.Network.AutomaticFrameSendIntervalLow = 100          --[0 .. 1000]
Settings.Network.FrameSendInterval = 50          --[0 .. 1000]
Settings.Network.DamageSendInterval = 500          --[0 .. 5000]
Settings.Network.UpdateDelayAfterCollision = 0          --[0 .. 500]
Settings.Network.ForceUpdateAfter = 300          --[0 .. 500]
Settings.Network.PingInterval = 500          --[0 .. 5000]
Settings.Network.DeadReckonTimestep = 10          --[0 .. 50]
Settings.Network.GhostModeLatency = 500          --[0 .. 5000]
Settings.Network.TrafficRelaying = TRUE
Settings.Network.FirewallCheck = TRUE

I've notice it has different version number (Settings.Version.Settings) on both these Options.cfg files, but for these above that are found through google it has Settings.Version.Settings = 12. Which is slightly odd.
