Purple44 - testing 123
Purple44 - The "guys" are racing onlime with stock FO2 tonight. Look for MCORoyce, Iowaboy, Heddly or me as host. Time about 8:00pm pacfic time.
RVR-72GV - Why don't we use the quote instead?
Purple44 - What will this post look like after 20 "quote"?
Purple44 - or does copy and paste look better?
RVR-72GV - I see then. I understand what do you mean. Also, you guys might want to help me complete this page (especially if you have a good shot of a car) : http://www.igcd.net/game.php?id=1000008941

Purple44 - @The Goat MCO - left you a PM
Purple44 - First Flatout 3 mod uploaded to FOJ today Smiley, hope you guys find it useful:  http://flatoutjoint.com/index.php?option=com_remository&Itemid=38&func=startdown&id=1102   >>>  hosting Flatout 3 derby online in about 1 hour from now, 6:00pm pacific time, 9:00pm eastern ( Sat Feb 4th )
Purple44 - Seem the server that host my pics is down Shocked I hope by tomorrow it back up or will have to find out what happen.
RVR-72GV - Speaking of GRID 2: http://www.made2game.com/articles/News/Microsoft/26409/GRiD-2-and-PGR5-tipped-for-E3-2012-reveal/
Purple44 - hi pking, long time no see at FOJ.
Purple44 - Make your plans to derby online with FO3 next Sat, Feb 18:  http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?p=29157961#post29157961
RVR-72GV - I smell something wrong with the cars' shadow in this RRU pic
Purple44 - GGrrrr got time out of FOJ while typing a post and lost post when went to post reply. Hate when that happens. Wish Firefox would cache post like Netscape did so I could get post back.
ExxionNexxion-  @RVR what what game is that from? I can't tell.
RVR-72GV - That's Ridge Racer Unbounded we've all been waiting and doubting for, duh.
And Purple44: You'd better quit crying about Figure 8 and intersections. Nobody want to play Figure 8 in Ridge Racer (but oval track still works though)
Purple44 - Then Bugbear should not be Flatoutizing Ridge Racer. And I don't want to wait until the summer of 2013 for GRID 2 to get release, before I can do 12 player derby racing online online. Feel free not to race any my RRU custom figure 8 tracks. RRU my last chance this year to get a racing game where I can do 12 play derby racing. Some the funest racing to be had online. Guys that did GRID derby racing no what I mean!!!!
RVR-72GV - Unless if you want to make Figure 8 tracks, that is.
GulBroz - killer, you've got mail Grin
Purple44 - less than an hour to go before I host some derby online with Flatout 3: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2505747&page=2
RVR-72GV - FYI: Bugbear requests a bunch of beta tester, sadly only limited in Finland: http://translate.google.com/translate?sl=auto&tl=en&js=n&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=2&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fv2.fi%2Fuutiset%2Fpelit%2F15413%2FV2fin-lukija--Bugbear-tarvitsee-sinua%2Fmy
RVR-72GV - After reading that FO3 uses 11 years old engine, it's pretty hilarious to find out that other developer (in this case, Synetic, a German dev specialized in racing games), constantly uses the very same engine (called the Landscape engine) for almost every of their games in 10 years (Mercedes-Benz Truck Racing,Mercedes-Benz World Racing, the highly moddable World Racing 2, and the Alarm for Cobra 11 series), but they successfully improved the game engine in each game although sadly, the gameplay gets more bland as well.
RVR-72GV - Forgot to post this, especially to Purple44 and every of you who live in America, I have a bad news:
Quote
NAMCO BANDAI GAMES Inc. can today confirm RIDGE RACER UNBOUNDED will be released in North America later in 2012 to give the development team some additional time to pack the disc with features that will truly make the game sing. NAMCO BANDAI GAMES will be making an announcement shortly outlining the new release date, pre-order incentives and a full list of features that will excite fans of the series. RIDGE RACER UNBOUNDED will be available for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system and PC.
While the EU version's date is still 30 March, it seems.
Purple44 - Does that mean the Euro PC version of RRU will be missing the text chat window, like what happen to Euro version of Flatout 1 & 2? And US version will get the online text chat window? Wink  It was hard to believe that Bugbear release euro version of Flatout 2 without a text chat window and had to patch it in. Shocked
RVR-72GV - Don't know. I'm not sure whether the EU version will have less contents to the US version though. You'd better ask Bugbear :\
Purple44 - Heddly, we racing stock FO2, look for Kingrace host
Heddly -on my way, thanks
RVR-72GV - Call me crazy, but here's something worth  thinking; since NFS and Burnout are pretty much dead, if Unbounded goes gold and there's no more NFS existing, I can foresee that in the next 5 years, we can only see Burnout-style racing game as the only existing arcade racing subgenre (just like how street racing taken over arcade racing subgenre since NFS:Ricer edition Underground). Plus the fact most of the racing genre hypes have been shifted from arcade to simulator lately(Forza, rFactor, GT, etc). Scary, but true. The industry never learn from their mistakes.
Purple44 - We still have GRID 2 to look forward to, except it a long wait for the summer of 2013. Codemasters hit the sweet spot between arcade and sim with GRID. Hope the same will hold true for GRID 2.
RVR-72GV - Not sure about that, DiRT Showdown has put me into great doubt :\
Purple44 - Heddly you racing FO 2 tonight?
Purple44 - hosting stock FO 2, got 4 slots open

RVR-72GV - That's Rigs of Rods. The crash damage is the most realistic I've seen in a game/application IMHO (although it's more dependent on the quality of user-made car). You might want to google it if you love crashing stuffs, it's free and it's completely moddable.

Purple44 - Heddly new host now
Purple44 - Would this crash damage be to realistic for Flatout? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zRmLc4uvjnA&feature=player_embedded Find this link over at DIRT Showdown forum.
RVR-72GV - That's Rigs of Rods. The crash damage is the most realistic I've seen in a game/application IMHO (although it's more dependent on the quality of user-made car). You might want to google it if you love crashing stuffs, it's free and it's completely moddable.
RVR-72GV - Since 90% of "Japanese franchise lent to the western devs hoping to be innovative" efforts are total rubbish, I can predict Unbounded will fall into that category as well. Don't get me wrong, though, I've seen a lot of hate toward this game already and countless of people calling this game sucks hard. No offense, I'm talking about the truth. Should Namco name it something else outside Ridge Racer, there won't be any hate like this.
Plus since this is published by $camco, there are two possibilities on how Unbounded will end:
-It ends like Flatout 3, in the other way, almost without patches since day 1 release, even if its littered with bugs (in case of Bugbear guys doing 'something else' doing this time of delay....)
-It will be flooded with $30-$60 random DLCs just like RR Vita for a single year, then Namco decided not to support the game anymore, leaving the multiplayer portion dead forever.
I know it sounds crazy, but hope God can prove me wrong. And the rest of the hater (TBH, I myself is one of them)

But delaying the US release, not sure if this is a wise move. If RRU a flop, then US players will have time to cancel their pre-orders or not pre-order at all.

And the rest of the hater (TBH, I myself is one of them)
Purple44 - I'm 100% sure Bugbear\Namco will not release RRU as a beta, like what happen to Flatout 3. Sure it will have some bugs, but Namco let Bugbear have an extra 4 weeks to polish\debug the game, so we should not see the repeat of FO3 or TDU2. But delaying the US release, not sure if this is a wise move. If RRU a flop, then US players will have time to cancel their pre-orders or not pre-order at all.
RVR-72GV - That's my concern as well. Plus the fact that almost every Japanese AAA games coming since 1 January 2012 gets below 50 score from large reviewers, don't expect any hope from Unbounded.
Purple44 - Heddly you racing tonight? There a few of us in Teamspeak tonight. Smiley

Shocked

RVR-72GV - I see then. I understand what do you mean. Also, you guys might want to help me complete this page (especially if you have a good shot of a car) : http://www.igcd.net/game.php?id=1000008941

RVR-72GV - Unless if you want to make Figure 8 tracks, that is.

NAMCO BANDAI GAMES will be making an announcement shortly outlining the new release date, pre-order incentives and a full list of features that will excite fans of the series.
And the rest of the hater (TBH, I myself is one of them)
Purple44 - I'm 100% sure Bugbear\Namco will not release RRU as a beta, like what happen to Flatout 3.
Smiley
Purple44 - we racing stock FO2,. thatgirl the host
Purple44 - Heddly hosting stock FO2, got 2 slots open
Purple44 - 4 hours of racing and derbying tonight, thanks for the fun tonight guys.  Smiley
RVR-72GV - Got this piece of bullshit in Xbox360 version of Unbounded:
Quote

This game is 1.6 gig installed, i know size dont matter but i was pretty shocked at the size.
So...what's inside an about 7-8 gigs DVD? I can smell Namco cut the entire content as DLC over and over again. @_@

And the rest of the hater (TBH, I myself is one of them)
Purple44 - I'm 100% sure Bugbear\Namco will not release RRU as a beta, like what happen to Flatout 3.

RVR-72GV - Got this piece of bullshit in Xbox360 version of Unbounded:

This game is 1.6 gig installed, i know size dont matter but i was pretty shocked at the size.[/quote]
So...what's inside an about 7-8 gigs DVD? I can smell Namco cut the entire content as DLC over and over again. @_@
