Since Flatout 1 in 2005 we have wanted 12 player races and derbys online. I help beta test 12 players online with Flatout 1, but we were unable to get a stable mod. Sad  12 players online with GRID is one the things that made GRID one the best, fun racing games in a decade. Please, Please give us 12 players online with DIRT Showdown if you want this game to be successful.

Also, any chance of getting a Tag or Hunter\Prey mode? I enjoy the Hunter\Prey mode we unlock in Flatout 2, but mode was unstable. Sometimes we never made it back to the lobby. Did not get to try DIRT 3 tag mode since DIRT 3 uses GFWL.


Will the PC version of DIRT Showdown and up coming GRID 2, have a text chat window in the lobby for all to read? I like GRID chat window while you race, but when players are in the lobby, all players need to see chat window when we talk about kicking a hacker\cheater. Will PC version of DIRT Showdown and up coming GRID 2 use the kick vote system use in Flatout 2? Host decide who to kick, then players vote. If there a majority vote, player is kick. Let the host police his\her lobby. The kick vote was broken in GRID.

Will players get to spectate other players after car is wreck? Will players joining lobby get to spectate while they wait for race or derby to finish like in GRID? This was good feature in GRID.

Will there be a "same as host" option? Host pick a car to race or derby with. Usually once players learn what are the best 2 or 3 cars, then none of the other cars are use again.

Will the derby cars become almost indestructible after about 1000 miles, like in GRID?

Like Ausman car, his car has taking a pounding, but is still going. Maybe a little hard to steer thou. Wink

A bit OOT but Ridge Racer Unbounded have 12 player races too (IIRC).
I hope other car class (especially Ken Block's ultimate Hoon Vehicle) is playable in derby too for lulz.

I need you guys form Flatout Joint to go post that we need 12 player races online. Game not out until May, there time yet to add 12 players online to the code. If you have race GRID derby racing, you know I'm right that we need 12 players online for a good derby figure 8 race with crashers.

I know this sounds stupid, but I hope Showdown to be the first Codemasters game in this 5 year to have the cars still drivable even after losing one or two wheels

I don't expect a car to be drivable after loosing a wheel (especially front wheels).

In GRiD I don't think you could loose wheel, but I'm sure you could damage front wheels (they were turned at 90 angle in such a case) and it was a hell to control the car afterward, which is logical to me.

What I dislike the most is stupid physics, like being able to control car and turn while being in the air after a jump (crashday, fuel...)

When you wreck you car in a derby, car respond again so you can score some more points. Last 30 seconds of timed derby, points are double.

I assume when you wreck your car, you receive negative points.

Eh? IIRC in Codies' earlier game (TOCA Race Driver), the car is still drivable even after losing two wheels. Shame it's not carried over into the next two sequels though.

I think every game mode except Hoonigan (aka Gymkhana reboot) could include 8-12 cars.

So like look it a no go for 12 player derby racing online with Showdown. Now will have to wait another year for GRID 2 to get release to be able to enjoy a great derby figure 8 racing online, unless Codies does the unthinkable and drops derby racing from GRID 2.

That would be a big mistake!!!!



I'm on the fence if I will be buying Showdown now. Will definitely wait until after release to decide if SD worth buying.

From what I've saw, in the derby mode, I think the cars uses typical FO-style health-bar instead of 'realistic' damaging like in DiRT/GRID
