I can do that, but what about some of the other guys.  Wink

I want to pitch to the Flatout 2 forums out there, to use this patch file on Saturdays:

patch1.bfs
fo2trackpackfinal-1.bfs
reverse-tracks-final.bfs
CustomCarMod.bfs
FO2_CustomCarPack1final.bfs

( this will change when the final version of custom car mod is done )

And to use reverse tracks you need to edit filesystem. Some day when V2 mod is done we won't have to go this route.

So it would be great if we had a bfs manager that would make it easy to edit both files.  Grin

And I still think listing safe bfs ( skins and cameras bfs )  files in "filesystem" file best way to go. Make it easier to swap "patch" files without problems.

Some guys might not have all these bfs files if I listed them in the "patch" file:

FastStartProfile.bfs
fo2camsfinal.bfs
car21_Crusader.bfs
MixerTruck.bfs
megaskinpack.bfs
aiskinpack.bfs

 Tongue  Smiley

And as often as I've been editing my "patch" file theses days and passing and posting it............

I'm still alive  Wink ...

I've finaly decided to release FlatOut 2 Mod Manager v1.0.1.0 after this long time... (should have done this much earlier...).

If there is still somebody interested about this, please give it a try and write some feedback!

I didn't worked on this since May 2007, but maybe this will change... (i've only build setup today...).

It's still far from perfect and i was very annoyed by .NET, thats the reason i've suspend this project...

After some feedback i'll upload it in the download section.

Download: FlatOut 2 Mod Manager v1.0.1.0

@Purple44
at least FO2MM v1.0.1.0 supports reverse Track Mod (don't know if it's still used?!?)

I still love FO2...

I can't start Flatout via the Mod Manager. I can choose the bfs files properly and create a new patch file, but every time I try to start Flatout2 from the Mod Manager, I get the error message
"Failed to load binary database 'data/Database/Flatout2.db"

Is there a database like that? Not on my computer, though. Even if I choose no bfs and create an empty patch file, the same error occurs.

My main game folder contains

patch
Original von patch
patch1.bfs
patch.cmod2
FOJs_Community_Mod.bfs
FOJs_Community_Mod_Carpack1.bfs
FOJs_Community_Mod_Trackpack1.bfs
FOJs_Community_Mod_Updates2.bfs
FOJs_Carpack2_and_updates.bfs
FOJ_C_MOD_Carpack3_addon.bfs
FOJs_Community_Mod_Overrite.bfs

I have Flatout2 V1.2, Mod manager 1.0.1.0 (had the same problem with 1.0.0.4), .Net 2.0, 3.0 and 3.5, WinXP Pro 32Bit SP3, all in German.
Normal Flatout without mods works perfectly. Can you help?

The patch you are creating will not work.

FOJs_Community_Mod_Overrite.bfs  is now part of FOJs_Carpack2_and_updates.bfs so it is not needed as well as patch,Original von patch and,patch.cmod2.

use this patch:

patch1.bfs
FOJs_Community_Mod.bfs
FOJs_Community_Mod_Trackpack1.bfs
FOJs_Community_Mod_Carpack1.bfs
FOJs_Carpack2_and_updates.bfs
FOJs_Community_Mod_Updates2.bfs
FOJ_C_MOD_Carpack3_addon.bfs

I don't use the : FlatOut 2 Mod Manager to start my game.I close the program and use my FO2 shortcue

Oops Heddly, he stated those were the files in his game folder, not his patch file.

So as Heddly said the overrite.bfs is not needed at all anymore.

If those are all the files in your main game folder then where is the game files? Looks like just the patch , community mod files.

The best way to get help is explain problem but also include a pic of your gamefolder, also open the filesystem and patch file with notepad and copy /paste the files listed in them. This will help someone spot any errors or missing files/entries.

Thanks for the tips! I deleted the overrite.bfs and now it's working. Starting the game from the ModManager still isn't working, but starting it with the shortcut is. Everything works fine now.

Thanks again,

Are you trying to using the old Flatout 2 mod manager or De Stan mod manager that was included in part 5?

This is how i solved this problem:

1) Locate your installation folder
2) Locate your .exe
3) do a copy of it on the desktop

Next thing you have to do is to use Mod Manager just to mod and not to start. Here is how i solved. Cheesy
